| Quote of the week from SXSW 2005:
Gene (guitarist from Aussie band Starky) to me: "You're the worst person I've met on this whole goddamn trip."
now, sarah will tell you that he was kidding, and she might even tell you the context of the quote. i, on the other hand, will tell you nothing. |

| this morning i had to put scruffy to
sleep. he's buried in my backyard now. i'm sadder than i
have words for. i euthanized my best friend.

| i have itchy feet. they want to head south. but, because i'm a responsible grown-up, i can't just pack my bags and leave whenever i want. i have to plan, and make arrangements, boring stuff. so, i'm projecting for sometime this summer, maybe august - to escape the miserable houston heat - to take off for parts south. i'd like to see the mayan ruins in the yucatan (even though that partially defeats the above-stated purpose of escaping august in houston, as the weather won't be any less oppressive there), maybe see the mountains in the south of mexico, perhaps venture even further south - maybe belize, or peru, or argentina.
anyone interested in going with me? |

| so the sxsw schedule came out, and of course, there are conflicts. i mean, how am i supposed to choose between melissa ferrick and sleater-kinney? between david garza and the wallflowers? okay, those are the major conflicts i saw right off the bat, along with the fact that either i leave billy idol early or get to mellissa ferrick or sleater-kinney late . . . decisions, decisions. |
